Grey Blending, Helping You Transition to a Seamless Blend
Grey blending is the ideal way to soften regrowth, add dimension, and create a seamless transition between your natural hair and colour-treated ends. Whether you're looking to blend greys gradually or grow out your existing colour, we’ll create a bespoke plan tailored to your hair goals.
Grey Blending Conversion – What to Expect
Grey blending is a highly detailed, customised process designed to create a softer, more natural-looking regrowth while reducing the harsh contrast between your natural hair and previous colour. Over time, this results in a low-maintenance, blended colour that requires fewer frequent touch-ups.
The first grey blending conversion appointment is a lengthy, full-day service, typically lasting between 6-10 hours. I block out the entire day to ensure the best possible outcome. The process involves extensive foiling to break up the regrowth line, strategic lightening in key areas to soften the transition, and other tailored techniques based on what your hair needs.
Pricing
Grey blending is priced as a package, starting at £365 for 6 hours, with additional time charged at £70 per hour if required. This includes all necessary steps, such as toning, treatments, and cutting.
While grey blending appointments are lengthy, the result is a beautifully blended colour with much more longevity, eliminating the harsh regrowth line and making future appointments less frequent and easier to maintain.
How Many Conversion Appointments Will I Need?
Everyone's hair is different and requires different approaches. During the conversion appointment, I will break up the regrowth line as much as possible so you begin to see the benefits immediately. After your initial conversion appointment, I will check in with you around four weeks later to assess how your hair is growing out and refine our plan moving forward.
How Do I Maintain My Grey Blend?
Once we achieve a blend you love, maintenance moves to top-up appointments, depending on your goals and how much grey we incorporate. A good rule of thumb: the more grey we allow into your final look, the less frequent your salon visits will be.
Fully transitioning to natural grey? Occasional toners may be needed to neutralise warmth in your existing colour.
Keeping some colour? A 4-6 hour maintenance appointment is usually needed around the 3-4 month mark
Alternatives to Grey Blending
If grey blending isn’t for you, there are other options:
Growing out your natural colour – A quicker process if you’re open to a pixie cut!
Demi-permanent colour – A softer approach to blending grey, though it won’t fully eliminate the regrowth line if there’s a strong contrast.
Home Care for Grey Blending
To keep your blend fresh and your hair in the best condition, I recommend:
✅ Sulfate-free shampoo to prevent fading
✅ Toning conditioners to maintain your desired shade
✅ Heat protection to reduce colour fading from styling
Is Grey Blending Right for You?
While grey blending is an incredible way to transition naturally, it may not be the best fit for everyone. Here’s what to consider before booking:
If you aren’t comfortable seeing any grey – Grey blending embraces natural silver rather than covering it entirely.
If you have very little grey – You may not need a full grey blending service yet, but making sensible colour choices now (such as avoiding permanent colour) can help in the future.
If you expect instant results – Grey blending is a process, not a quick fix. Transitioning from years of colour work takes time, but each appointment moves you closer to your goal.
