Many people find hair salons intimidating, whether it’s due to unclear pricing, feelings of judgement, or just not having their needs fully understood. Hair appointments can feel stressful when you’re not sure what you’ll be paying at the end. That’s why my pricing model is completely transparent and gender-neutral. I work with time-based pricing packages so clients know exactly what they’re getting, with clear options for add-ons, like vivid colour. Everything you see online is exactly what you can expect in the chair, with no surprises at checkout.
Silent Appointments for a Calmer Experience
Silent appointments are available at YLANJ HAIR and can be requested during online booking or by letting me know on arrival. I understand that not everyone finds conversation relaxing, and for some, silence can make the experience more enjoyable. I always check in at the beginning of each appointment to see if clients have any special requests. For those who may need a quieter time to visit the salon, I invite them to reach out to arrange a time when things are less busy.

Curly Hair Done Right
Curly hair deserves its own approach, and I’m here to ensure every client with curly or textured hair gets a cut that suits their natural shape. My curly cuts are slightly longer appointments, done on dry hair to respect the natural curl pattern. I ask clients to come in with clean, product-free hair that’s been worn down to avoid distorting the curls before cutting. For those who sometimes wear their curls straight, I first cut the length dry and finish the shaping on wet hair. This technique preserves the best of both worlds - no straggles when straightened and no surprises when curly.

Tailoring Appointments for Neurodiverse Clients
Inclusivity also means understanding that everyone’s sensory needs are different. To make sure each appointment is as comfortable as possible, I send every client a pre-appointment questionnaire. This form lets clients specify any accommodations they might need, whether it’s a quieter setting, extra time, or specific sensory requests. I want clients to feel comfortable discussing any needs with me so that together, we can make every appointment positive and stress-free.
